August 2013

As the summer started to wind down Jeff needed to get some fishing done. We spent the day at a family favorite swimming spot, Krause Springs, then went to Lake Travis to fish. We caught a fish every time we cast. I was nervous with Coco around the open dock but the girls and Jeff had a great time.

The girls finished up their basketball season and ended up really enjoying it.
We made a trip to Sandy's ranch for a weekend to spend time with Jeff's old friend Josh. We all love to be out there on the land with all the animals.
Coco
I turned 31 this year and our sweet neighbors took the kids for the afternoon so Jeff and I could go out.  I got a massage and then we headed downtown.  We went to a burger joint called Hopdoddys.  The burger, fries, milkshake, and Cesar salad was to die for.  We then went to Allens Boot Shop and Jeff bought me my first pair of real boots.  They were shooting a film downtown too so we hung-out and watched that for awhile. It was really a great day.
The girls had back-to-school night at their new school Fern Bluff. Camille has Ms. Moloo for kinder and Jill has Mrs. Shepherd for first.
They were both rather excited for the first day of school. I was pretty lonely. The school is super strict and I wasn't allowed to walk them to class.  I hate that.

The night before school started the girls got a blessing from Jeff and I gave them a Best Friends necklace. They told me after school, on the first day, they saw each other in the hall and ran together to put their necklace together. I'm so glad they have each other.
We ended the month with the UT season opener. It was packed and blazing hot but so fun.

7 month belly

today i'm 28 weeks!! three months left, i can't believe how fast it's gone. i had an ultrasound today and the baby is still a girl. she's healthy and my placenta is all good too. no more worries (hopefully). i had a great "mommy moment" today. as i was standing by jills high chair, she reached out and placed her sweet hand on my belly. she just held her hand there for quiet a few seconds, looked up at me, smiled and then went back to eating. she has no clue that a baby is in there. i was having a bit of anxiety about my ultrasound today and she just put me at ease. is that funny...for me to think that she, somehow knew what i needed? anyway...here's my baby bump: here's jills baby bump:
jill has learned to "smile" when the camera is on her. here's what i get almost every time now:

on another note:
after the ultrasound jeff wanted to go fishing. we found a pond and got out to find some fish. jill walked, actually ran, right up to the waters edge and kept going. had it not been for the sweet little hand i was holding, she would have ended up in the water. my jillian is NOT scared of water, which makes me scared to death. therefore, if you have a pool in your backyard, sorry, no play dates at your house.

week long of fun

on friday i got to go to Utah for Grandma and Grandpa Pete's 70th anniversary reunion. can you imagine that? 70 years married!! it's amazing. grandpa speaks so fondly of grandma and grandma looks to grandpa for direction. i relish in the time i get to spend with them. it was great to reconnect with all my aunts, uncles and cousins. we've all grown so much. i also got to connect with a peterson crowd that still live in az. we've made plans to get together and i hope we follow through.

this is the gary peterson family that was able make it to utah. i'll post the picture of the extended family when i get it...there was a ton of us there.

on sunday we got to go to Lake Powell with jeff's mission buddies. it was a blast. jill like to drive the boat with Brian Myers (it was his house boat). the place we camped with absolutely majestic. we were right up next to a cliff. each day we got to go wake boarding, surfing, snorkeling and cliff jumping. it was a great trip!

jeff got to fish and he caught a bunch of stripped bass. he also speared a few carp. the last day jill was so exhausted!!

if you look close you'll see me in the blue swimsuit. this huge rock/cliff was as if it were sliced with a knife. once we climbed the littler rocks, the big one just opened up. it was phenomenal!! we were walking in between this two perfectly parallel cliffs rising up to the sky. the temp. was at least 10 degrees cooler inside the rock. you could touch either side at the same time. it was unbelievable! what a great week.
