you have no idea...

what a relief!! today was the Primary Sacrament Program at church. part of my calling in the primary is to write the script for the program and pretty much run the show. with a little over 100 active primary children the task was daunting to say the least. after the first practice i was so distraught that i called each mother and reminded them of their children's part and that i was hoping not to have to prompt. the parents hard-work, our prayers and the children's wonderful spirits came through.
the program ran without a hitch! all of the junior primary children (including my sunbeams) had their parts memorized. the senior primary brought self-written talks and testimonies to share. they did a phenomenal job. i know i've mentioned this before, but our chorister and pianist are amazing. as the children sang the spirit was felt and confirmed the truthfulness of what was being shared by our youth.
after the program i heard many compliments. the best one came from my stake leader. as the tears flowed from her eyes she said it was the best program she has ever seen.
you have no idea what a relief it is to be done! i didn't sleep last night and i was a mess this morning worrying about it. obviously i need to have more faith...

That would be a very daunting task! I'm glad it all went so well. I have to say the primary program is my most favorite sacrament meeting of the year! Of course, I have never had to be the one in charge of it!

Great work. The only bad thing is that now they know you can do it...and do it well. Start planning for next year :) I wouldn't have doubted you for a minute.

oh man Alisha, that's a CRAZY calling. We had our program yesterday and just sitting up there with our class made my heart race. I kept thinking "okay, don't lose your place so you know when to send the kids up" and I kept quizzing them on there lines. I can only imagine how nerve wracking it would be to be in charge. Good Job, I bet it was awesome with someone like you in charge!

From having been there... you really do need to have faith. Somehow they get it with one practice and it always comes off great. I understand the stress. Good job I am sure it was great!

Oh, Leesh, We are so proud of you and I love it when the children speak without prompt, from their hearts. It really makes a difference in the spirit of the meeting. Our primary program was almost all prompted. I was a little disappointed. I have been involved in Primary programs in the past so I know the pressure and the rewards of a job well done. I am so glad you had this entire experience. You are so prepared to be a leader....in every way. Love ya..

I wish I could have been there to see the program. Come January it starts all over again, huh? I hope you get a break for a couple of weeks.

Ditto, Leesh. I always knew you had it in you--you are a born leader. Having been in that position--it's as much a spiritual experience writing the program as it is to hear it and participate in it. I'm so prou of you and we love you!!!
