now it's really offical

last week i had myself convinced that i wasn't really pregnant. i've been feeling so good, no weight gain and no doctors appt yet. i was at walmart and i thought, "well i better buy another prego test to confirm that i'm not pregnant". (the lack of menses for three months never entered my crazy brain). seconds after i peed it was positive. what?! i was positive it would be negative.
so, tonight at work (i'm a nurse at the hospital) i decided to triple check. i got the doppler and an empty room. i found the new baby's' heart beat in less than a minute. so it's official...i'm pregnant.
points to ponder: the heart beat was approx 120 beats/minute. jillian always ran approx 140-150 beats/minute. with jill i was nauseated for a good portion of the pregnancy. with this one...well, refer to the above paragraph.
anyway, due date is may 29th and i am now convinced that this is really happening.

Yep--it's the real thing. Actually I never told you, but I never was sick either. In fact, I thought I was weird because everyone was telling me how sick they got.I was even mowing the lawn and doing garden work and motel work like maids work all thru., until the nineth month and then I mowed the lawn and got sick-dry heaves. The nurse said that I was in labor.

maybe that's a sign of things to come, hopefully- no sickness and feeling good for the next nine months. may is like the perfect month for a newborn baby- lucky you! jill's gonna make a great big sister.

You are giving me hope for the next pregnancy! You are too funny though, not believing you are pregnant until you actually hear the heart beat! You crack me up! Congrats again!

LOL!!! i thought maybe it's a boy too. then i thought, "that sounds like a wive's tale and i don't belive in those." so here is what i know from the experiences of my sister: she carried differently with both her girls one high, one low AND she was sick with one and not the other. so...what do YOU think Alisha? i realize that this is not a great sample size for research.

You never know by the pregnancy. I have one sister who had two boys and two girls. The pregnancies definitely had girl vs boy symptoms, so she could tell the difference. I have another sister with only girls and her pregnancies have all been way different. She even lost weight in the first four months of one of them! She was sure it was a boy, but no, it was a girl.

I'm excited for Christmas! I hope you make it up here!

I think it's a girl if you ask me... I am glad you are not sick. That makes things much easier! So, any names yet!? hehe, probably not considering Jillian didn't have one until she was born...

I have been trying to leave comments, but your blog isn't accepting them. I wanted to say that if you were like most women in the world, we would know you were pregnant from a bulging belly. I need you to start sticking it out so that I can remember you are pregnant.....

from,
the girl who starts showing the minute she is pregnant.

I had convinced myself with each of my pregnancies that I wasn't really pregnant- and even felt silly going to my first doctors appts- thinking they're just going to send me home and say it isn't really so! But it was! Amazing how our brains can twist things around even after seeing a positive test! Congratulations!
