birthday love

dearest sweet jill,

today you are two years old.

i can't remember life without. i do however remember the day your father
and i knew it was time to start a family. we were sitting at stake
conference and the regional representative was speaking of
temporal possessions vs spiritual desires. jeff and i were both impressed
that our possessions could wait. a new and excited life as parents
was about to begin. i am so happy that we heeded the prompting
of the spirit and received you. i love you my sweet jillian. love, momma

p.s.

i especially love:

the way you come to wake me up every morning.

the way you fold your arms, close your eyes, and bow your head.

when you pet camille's head and help me change her diaper.
when you copy everything (i mean everything) i do.
when you put your arms up and say "mommy"

a few jillian words:

jillian= dede

one= non

um= yes

controller= con

run=go

balloon= loons

please= mommy pepe

water= tata

i love you= lala

leaf= aleafs

tree= atrees

the moon= tamoo

we started two new family birthday traditions today:

1. balloon launch

a balloon for each year with one-word wishes (obedience, happiness, etc.) written on them by those celebrating with you. (thanks nienie for the idea and hayley for refinement) the kiddos enjoyed watching the balloons float away.

2. a family picture

camille is pulling jill's hair but it's the best one we got. (stole this tradition from nettie)

Well, sometimes making the birthday happen for a little one seems to be futile....we want the little person to respond the way we think they should. After seeing these pictures I believe all was worth the work and jill will also see the memories just beginning with her dear family. She is absolutely beautiful! Glad we could come. Thankful for kids that try to live the gospel ....and so grateful to Heavenly Father for the health and happiness he has bestowed on us.
Love, Grandmanetty

Happy Birthday Jillian! You had asked about ages at Disneyland. I think it depends more on the personality. We took Kendra when she was three and a half. Even though she loved the Disney cartoons, she did not like the characters at Disneyland and she thought all the rides were dark and scary. She now likes most of the rides and has no problem going up to the characters, but it took some time. Kessa on the other hand went at 18 months old and LOVED every second of Disneyland. she can't get enough of Disneyland, the characters, the rides, the shows - everything. So, definitely personality makes the biggest difference. Jillian looks cute in all her pictures and I love the family picture.

Happy birthday- I have a little girl birthday coming up too and I can't believe it's been two years! Love the tutu- Eliza wears them all the time at the studio and calls them "bayay's" (ballet's), although she usually wears them around her neck so they fall around her shoulders.

What a beautiful family you have!
