when will i see you again?

i miss my peeps a lot.
these are the ones i am most comfortable around.
these are the ones who love me no matter.
these are the ones i wish lived closer.
these are the ones i look up to.
these are the ones i love.

we had a wonderful time re-connecting
in the mountains of colorado.

the quaint town of breckenridge hosted us all for a week.

surrounded by trees and mountains i found my inner peterson.

late-night talks, yoga classes, and alpine slides are
among the best memories from the week.

of-course all of the cousins had a
glorious time with one another...

even if they were unsure at times.

i sure miss my peterson family.

my birthday wish

i've always loved being an august baby.
i enjoy the summers.
i love the anticipation of fall
that late august brings
and i love having a birthday.
this year my one wish was to go
camping in the red rocks of sedona.
we had never been and i was eager beat the
heat and expand my love of arizona.
we found a pretty camp site among the trees and mountains.
it even had a pretty little river running through it.
(this a big deal for me coming from the dry,
drought-cursed valley-of-the-sun)
the girls had a great time
(save jill and her non-fear of bugs that
landed her with the first bee sting of her life)
jeff cooked us some yummy tin-foil dinners.
it was so yummy that we had about twenty or so
unexpected visitors.
(note the visitor under the table)
the next morning we went to slide-rock canyon.
birthday wish fulfilled.

back in the day

i had some friends.
a few of us thought we could ditch the kiddos
for two nights and be friends again.
only this time as mature, well-dressed adults.

ROAD-TRIP.
across the amazing Hoover dam
which is soon to be Hoover bridge, and into Big-horned Sheep territory.
(check out that big 'ol alpha male behind the tree)
we had a great time in vegas.
the three of us.
lounging by the pool, eating at cool restaurants, and even meeting up with the class pres.
friends from back in the day are the coolest of friends.

(events took place in july)

treaures of the crane cabin

we lock-up the cabin for a reason.
the treasures abound.
a few special findings include:
MJ records,

new families trying to make the cabin home
like these little birdies,

and these creepy crawlers.
the more we killed the more appeared.

candy is somehow sweeter on the steps of the cabin(just couldn't resist posting this face)

i'm thinking that fossil creek earned jeff a new nick-name
monkey-man.

of-course i had to do some jumping.
can't wait to visit again and find more surprises.

09 July 2009

your life has been spared...

congratulations new momma.
your life is no longer in jeopardy.
jill and i found two today.

we couldn't be more excited.

on a side note:
we had a splendid 4th.
pool party with friends and
half of a firework show.
good times.

30 June 2009

i have a fungus...

growing in my garden,

and an alien head blooming from my artichoke plant.

speaking of heads...
this little thing isn't so little.

here are her one year stats:
head circumference: 18.5 inches (93%)
weight: 22 lbs (67%)
length: 31 inches (96%)
(i wonder if it's all that healthy food
i've been feeding her that's helping her grow so well.)

on another note...
it's hot as Hades here.
if we're not on the slip-and-slide,
or swimming,

then we're finding ways of having fun on the inside.

(yes, camille can push jill around and they both love it!)

third and final note:
still waiting for production...

(didn't jeff do a fabulous job on the coop?)

07 June 2009

low key

jeff turned 29 on friday.
we celebrated by cleaning carpets and toilets.
watching your babies vomit is the worst present ever.
everyone in the house has had it save me and daddy taylor.
happy birthday jeff.
(next year will be better, i promise)
(after-all you will be officially o3l0d next year)

02 June 2009

feeling the itch...

after 5 years of marriage jeff and i were feeling the itch...
to get out of arizona.
we decided to take a long weekend vacation to the coast.
we visited the Queen Mary and the Port of Los Angeles.

we laughed our faces off at the Laugh Factory in Long Island.

we biked around Catalina Island,
and even trusted our lives to a mask and oxygen tank
(kinda scary but really cool).
most important of all;
i think i won the "1,2,3, open!
(and look directly at the sun)" picture contest.
(dang, that was a painful)

who do you think won?
